A table for imperial officers
Our restaurant’s roots stretch back to the turn of the last century. Pula was under Austrian rule, with members of the Imperial-Royal Landwehr stationed in the city. The restaurant was an exclusive establishment, renowned for its gastronomic prowess and serving only the elite of the Austrian military cadres.
A gathering place for the whole town
After the First World War the region fell under the authority of Italy. During this period the restaurant made a name for its fine cuisine and became a central gathering place for the whole community.
Tito and Nasser at the table
The reputation for excellence continued to grow, and in the 1950s world leaders such as Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito and Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser dined at the establishment.

Extensively renovated, the restaurant builds new successes on past ones: it is recommended by the Michelin Guide and, in June 2026, was singled out by The New York Times.
